Agent: Alvarez has never spoken with any Barcelona presidential candidates; interested parties should contact Atletico Madrid.

Julian Álvarez's agent, Fernando Hidalgo, insisted on Tuesday that any reports involving his client's contact with Barcelona were untrue.
Since joining Atletico Madrid in August 2024 for €75 million, Alvarez has been an indispensable member of the team's attack. To date, the 26-year-old has made 89 appearances for Atletico, scoring 40 goals and providing 13 assists.
However, rumors about Alvarez potentially joining Barcelona have continued to circulate recently. According to several Spanish media outlets, including Marca and Diario Sport, at least one Barcelona presidential candidate has contacted Alvarez's team, hoping to bring him to the club next season. To make room for Alvarez in the starting lineup, Barcelona is even reportedly considering a choice between Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.
Faced with the rampant rumors, Hidalgo had to step forward to refute them. He clearly told Winwin reporter Said Nabawi: "We have never had any dialogue with any Barcelona presidential candidate, and all related statements are untrue. Julian Álvarez's contract with Atlético Madrid will last until 2030. Anyone interested in signing him should contact the club directly, not us."
On the other hand, the Premier League has never stopped monitoring Alvarez. According to ESPN, both Chelsea and Arsenal have expressed interest in Alvarez, with Chelsea even holding talks with Hidalgo during his visit to England last week.
Alvarez played for Manchester City from 2022 to 2024, making 103 appearances, contributing 36 goals and 19 assists, and winning one Champions League title, one Club World Cup title, two Premier League titles, one UEFA Super Cup title, one FA Cup title, and one Community Shield title with the team. Although his tactical role at Manchester City was far less important than Erling Haaland's, his efficient individual performances still earned him recognition from other Premier League clubs.
