Wolves defender Nigel Longwick has renewed his contract with the club and confirmed that he will join League One team Luton Town Football Club on loan in the 2025-26 season to continue to accumulate game experience and get stable playing opportunities.  

The 22-year-old defender is leaving Molineux for the sixth time and will be playing in the third tier of English football for the third consecutive season. He has previously played on loan at clubs such as Huddersfield Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Plymouth, gaining valuable match experience.  

In the 2022-23 season, Nigel Longwick won the League One title with Plymouth Argyle. The central defender made 41 appearances throughout the season and played a major role in the team's success, which ended in a championship.  

The former Netherlands youth international has gained a wealth of experience on loan during his time at Wolves, having played for Fortuna Sittard in his native Netherlands, Grasshoppers Zurich in Switzerland and at Home Park (Plymouth Argyle) in England, demonstrating his ability to adapt and grow in different league environments.  

In the second half of the 2023-24 season, Nigel Longwick returned to League One and played for Wycombe Wanderers on loan for a short time. He played 11 games for the team, including a full 90 minutes in the Bristol Street Motors Cup final, and scored 2 goals. One of the goals was named the club's best goal of the season, highlighting his performance and influence in key games.  

Nigel Longwick once again showed solid form in the division last season, playing 26 games for Huddersfield, but his season was cut short by a hamstring injury in early March.  

This summer, Nigel Longwick signed a one-year contract extension with Wolves. In the new season, the young central defender will join the Championship team Luton Town on loan to start a new challenge in Bedfordshire, with the goal of helping the team rebound quickly after being relegated from the Premier League.
