Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić set a franchise record by becoming the only player in franchise history to win the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award three times.

This big man from Serbia has been almost omnipotent in the past five years and has demonstrated all-round dominance. Even if he missed the MVP in the 2024-25 season, Jokic is still a core figure in the league that cannot be ignored.

Jokic won the MVP for the first time in the 2020-21 season. He averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game, while maintaining a 56.6% shooting percentage, a 38.8% three-point shooting percentage and an 86.8% free throw shooting percentage. That year, he completely broke the stereotype of the traditional center and became the first MVP winner in team history.

In the 2021-22 season, Jokic surpassed himself again and won the award for the second consecutive year. His average data increased to 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game, and he also contributed 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks. His shooting percentage was as high as 58.3%. Even so, he still failed to lead the team to the championship.

In the 2023-24 season, Jokic, who had just led his team to win the 2022-23 NBA championship, once again played at the MVP level and won the MVP trophy for the third time. In this season, Jokic played 79 games, averaging 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game, once again proving with data that he is worthy of being one of the most versatile centers today.
