Angers announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed Burkina Faso international goalkeeper Hervé Koffi on-loan from Lens, and has extended the contract of its France U20s international defender Emmanuel Biumla.
According to Angers' official statement, Biumla has signed on a new a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028; Koffi will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement includes a non-mandatory buyout clause.
About Hervé Koffi
Hervé Koffi, 28, was born on October 16, 1996 in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. He is 1.84 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He has dual Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast citizenship.
Koffi played for the youth academy of the local club Rahimo in Burkina Faso when he was young, and joined the youth academy of his hometown club Bobo-Dioulasso in 2014.
In January 2016, Koffi joined the traditional Ivorian powerhouse ASEC Mimosas, and completed his ASEC Mimosas first-team debut in a CAF Champions League match two months later.
The following summer, Koffi joined Lille, but mostly played for its B team.
During this spell, he was also loaned-out to Belenenses and Royal Excel Mouscron.
In the summer of 2021, Koffi joined Royal Charleroi for €600,000.
In July last year, Koffi joined Lens for €2 million.
Last season, Koffi only played 8 times for Lens in all competitions, conceded 11 goals and kept 1 clean sheet.
About Emmanuel Biumla
Emmanuel Biumla, who is only 20 years old, was born on May 8, 2005 in Abidjan, the capital of Côte d'Ivoire. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a center back. He can also play as a defensive midfielder. He has the nationalities of Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon and France.
Biumla joined Bordeaux's youth academy at a young age and completed his Bordeaux first-team debut in August 2023.
After being administratively relegated to the non-league due to Bordeaux's bankruptcy last summer, Biumla moved to Angers as a free agent.
Last season, Biumla played 18 times for the Ligue 1 club in all competitions and scored 1 goal.
