The Chicago Bulls announced on Monday that they have officially waived 24-year-old guard Jaden Ivey, citing his behavior as detrimental to the team.

Just hours before the layoffs, Ivy made inflammatory remarks containing homophobic sentiments during a social media livestream. Last Thursday, Ivy was announced to be out for the season due to a knee injury, after which he frequently went on long livestreams on Instagram.

During a live broadcast on Monday, Ive publicly criticized the NBA's "Pride Month" promotion, saying that the league's move was to promote and celebrate injustice and directly violate the league's diversity red line.

As the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, Ivy joined the Bulls from the Pistons just last month before the trade deadline, but has only played four games for the team. According to ESPN, Ivy's overly fervent religious expressions and "preachy" style in the locker room have already caused resentment among some staff members.

Ivy's livestream content not only contained anti-gay sentiments but also touched on highly controversial and sensitive topics such as anti-Catholicism and abortion. Bulls head coach Billy Donovan responded to the matter by saying, "The team has clear expectations and standards; everyone must remain professional and have a high degree of respect for one another."

Having failed to reach an early contract extension with the Pistons last summer, Ivy will become a free agent this offseason. His swift dismissal by the Bulls due to his extreme off-court comments has cast a huge shadow over his future NBA career.
