The Sacramento Kings announced on Thursday that they have signed Daquan Jeffries through an injury exception. The two sides have agreed on a ten-day contract worth approximately $165,000, valid until April 4th.

All indications suggest that this signing aims to alleviate the Kings' personnel shortage caused by a wave of injuries. With Jeffries joining the team at the last minute, the Kings' injury list was already alarming: Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, DeAndre Hunter, and Drew Urbans were all ruled out for the season, and Russell Westbrook, Keegan Murray, Nick Clifford, and many other players were also sidelined with injuries.

After signing the contract, Jeffries immediately got back into the game. In Thursday's game against the Orlando Magic, he played a total of 7 minutes for the Kings, scoring 2 points on 1-for-1 shooting.

Jeffries, 28, plays as a swingman and entered the NBA in 2019 as an undrafted free agent. He has played for the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, and Charlotte Hornets, appearing in 111 regular season games, averaging 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 41.5% and a three-point percentage of 31.5%.

Jeffries has also played in the G League for the Stockton Kings, Collich Parker Hawks, and Westchester Nicks. So far this season, he has played 28 games for the Stockton Kings, averaging 23.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steals in 23.5 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 51.8% and a three-point percentage of 43.8%.
