The Golden State Warriors announced Thursday that Moses Moody had successfully undergone surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right thumb. He is expected to recover smoothly and be ready for the start of training camp for the new season.
The 22-year-old Moses Moody mainly plays as a forward-guard swingman and was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 14th pick in the first round in July 2021. He has played 255 regular season games for the Warriors so far, averaging 7.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game in his career, with a shooting percentage of 44.9% and a three-point shooting percentage of 36.7%.
Moody also played 37 playoff games for the Warriors, averaging 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 43.7% and a three-point shooting percentage of 43.8%.
In the 2024/25 season, Moody played 74 regular season games for the Warriors, averaging a career-high 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 22.3 minutes per game, with a shooting percentage of 43.3% and a three-point shooting percentage of 37.4%. However, he performed poorly in 12 playoff games, averaging only 7.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 16.1 minutes per game, with a shooting percentage of 35.0% and a three-point shooting percentage of 33.3%.
