Torino issued a statement on Thursday, announcing that 52-year-old Paolo Vanoli is no longer the first team coach. Vanoli coached Torino for only one season and eventually led the team to 11th place in Serie A.
The statement read: "Torino Football Club confirms that it will no longer cooperate with Paolo Vanoli next season. The club thanks Vanoli and his coaching team for their professionalism and hard work during the coaching of Torino this season, and wishes them all the best in the future."
As for Vanoli's successor, Torino has now made a clear arrangement. They quickly appointed Marco Baroni as the first team coach on a two-year contract.
Marco Baroni, 61, started his coaching career in 2000 and has served as head coach for Rondinella, Montevarchi, Carrarese, South Tyrol, Ancona, Siena, Cremonese, Lanciano Virtus, Pescara, Novara, Benevento, Frosinone, Regina, Lecce, Verona, etc. He took over the Lazio first team in July 2024 and led the team to a record of 27 wins, 13 draws and 12 losses during his tenure.
However, Baroni's coaching performance failed to meet Lazio's expectations. He was recently dismissed by Lazio and replaced by the famous Italian coach Mauricio Sarri.
