Player of the Week: Harden was elected again after four years, and Antetokounmpo won four championships in a row this season

On April 15, the NBA officially announced the winners of the "Player of the Week" for Week 25 of the 2024-25 season. Clippers guard James Harden won the Western Conference Player of the Week for his outstanding performance, which is his first time in four years to win this honor. Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was selected as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, and became the player with the most awards in the Eastern Conference with four selections this season.

The last time Harden won the Player of the Week award was in February 2021, when he was still wearing the Nets jersey. This week, Harden was in hot form, leading the Clippers to a 4-game winning streak in the final stage of the regular season, defeating the Spurs, Rockets, Kings and Warriors in succession, successfully securing the fifth place in the Western Conference and avoiding the risk of the play-offs.

In these four games, Harden averaged 41.5 minutes per game, delivering comprehensive statistics of 29.5 points, 10.5 assists, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals. His shooting percentage was as high as 53.4% and his three-point shooting percentage was 48.4%, showing extremely strong efficiency and dominance.

Representative performances include 39 points and 10 assists against the Warriors, a triple-double against the Kings (23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists), and 35 points against the Rockets, achieving the "Grand Slam" achievement of scoring 35+ points against all 30 teams in the league.

In this season's regular season, Harden played 79 games for the Clippers, averaging 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game, successfully leading the team to 50 wins and 32 losses, becoming a strong contender for the Western Conference playoffs.

In the Eastern Conference, Giannis Antetokounmpo once again won the honor for the second consecutive week. Although he missed the final game this week, he still performed efficiently in the three games against the Timberwolves, Pelicans and Pistons. He averaged 27.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 10.0 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game, and maintained a top MVP-level performance.

Especially in the game against the Pistons, he scored a triple-double of 32 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds, showing his dominance.

So far this season, Antetokounmpo has played in 67 games, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, leading the Bucks to 48 wins and 34 losses and ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference.

According to statistics, Harden and Antetokounmpo have each been selected as Player of the Week for the 27th time in their careers. The two are tied for fourth in NBA history, second only to James (69 times), Kobe (33 times) and Durant (33 times).

As the playoffs are about to begin, the top teams are ready to go. Whether Harden, who has been in a continuous burst of energy, and Antetokounmpo, who has been in a stable output, can continue their personal state to the playoffs and set off a frenzy of superstar confrontation again is worth the fans' expectation.
