The Toronto Raptors suffered another major blow at a crucial moment in their quest for a spot in the NBA Cup semifinals, as starting point guard Emmanuel Quekley was confirmed to be out due to illness and will miss the knockout game against the New York Knicks.

According to the latest news from Raptors reporter Esfandiar Baraheni, Quikley was initially listed as "questionable" for the day, but ultimately failed to play due to physical discomfort. Already stretched thin by R.J. Barrett's nine-game absence due to a knee injury, the loss of Quikley further strains the team's backcourt organization and offense.

Quirkley has been consistent this season, averaging 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, with impressive shooting percentages and outside shooting as well. He played with an illness in the last game against the Boston Celtics, scoring only 11 points.
