RB Leipzig has officially signed Brazilian striker Romulo to bolster their attacking firepower. The 23-year-old, from Göztepe in the Turkish Super Lig, has signed a contract until June 2030. He will wear the number 40 jersey this season.  

Romulo emerged from the youth academy of Brazilian club Maringá Football Club and quickly distinguished himself, winning the U17 Parana Youth League Top Scorer title. After a stint at Atlético Parana, he moved to Turkish club Göztepe in January 2024. With his new club, he contributed five goals and three assists, helping Göztepe, based in Izmir, secure promotion to the Turkish Super League.  

The 1.93m tall striker had an excellent debut season in Turkey's top flight, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists. After a year and a half with Goztepe, he rejoined the club and completed his transfer to RB Leipzig.  

Marcel Schäfer, General Manager of the Sporting Department, said: "Romulo has excellent physical qualities, solid skills and a keen instinct for goal. He is a versatile attacking player who can play in the traditional No. 9 position but can also adapt to a variety of roles."
