Chelsea captain Reece James gives an in-depth look at the team's training arrangements in Philadelphia, the integration of the new signings, and the key challenges the team will face in this summer's competitions.
Reece James said: "It's exciting to be back in Philadelphia, even though the temperatures were unexpectedly low. We had our first training session today and the atmosphere was positive. Of course, everyone remains optimistic, as we know it will be even hotter when we arrive in Atlanta."
“I am very happy to be back on the training ground and prepare for the game with my old teammates and several new players. The training rhythm is very tight and the intensity is very high, which is exactly what we need for preparation and it is also the part I personally enjoy very much.”
“Team morale remains high, which is not surprising given the perfect end to the season. Successfully securing a place in the Champions League and winning the English League title is of great significance to the team’s confidence. All players are eager to reproduce the glory of victory and hope that the club can achieve greater development and breakthroughs.”
“For this reason, every member of the team has a strong desire to achieve good results in this tournament. Our goal is to go one step further and prove to the outside world the team’s cohesion and fighting power with actual performance.”
“The new members of our team are all strong players and they have quickly integrated into the team. Some of the players have had interactions with their former club teammates, which has undoubtedly accelerated their adaptation process. As captain, my responsibility is to help them familiarize themselves with the team culture and Chelsea’s requirements as quickly as possible.”
"I am looking forward to the upcoming World Cup and I believe it will bring us new challenges. There are many teams and players in this tournament that we don't see often in European competitions. I think this will add great interest and competitiveness to the World Cup."
“This is a great opportunity to compete against the best clubs in the world and we hope to show the world how good we are. Of course, we will face some familiar players in the group stage, including Olivier Giroud of Los Angeles Football Club and Jorginho of Flamengo.”
“We have written so many unforgettable memories and history together at Chelsea, so it is always a treat to see them. I wish them all the best this summer. Except when we play against each other, of course.”
"For us, a new journey will officially begin on Tuesday. We hope to continue on the right track. To this end, we must be fully prepared and strive to achieve ideal results. Although the challenges are arduous, we are confident that we will meet everything and look forward to seeing everyone in Atlanta."
