Southampton Football Club has announced that captain Jack Stephens has signed a new three-year contract with the club. The new contract will last until the end of the 2027-28 season, at which point he will have played for the club for an impressive 17 years.  

Jack Stephens, 31, has completed his growth from the youth academy to the first team since joining Southampton in 2011, and played his 200th official game for the first team last season.  

Since being appointed Southampton captain two years ago, Jack Stephens has shouldered a heavy responsibility. In May 2024, at the end of his first season as captain, he led the team to beat Leeds United at Wembley, won the Championship play-off final, and lifted the trophy, which became an unforgettable moment.  

Following his contract extension, Jack Stephens said: "It has always been a privilege to play for this club and it continues to be so today. I am incredibly proud to continue playing for the club and captaining the club. It means the world to me and my family to be able to continue my journey here."
