The Milwaukee Bucks announced Wednesday that they have officially signed Amir Coffey from the free agent market. ESPN's Shams Charania previously reported that the two sides have reached a one-year contract.
Amir Kofi, 28, plays shooting guard and small forward and joined the Los Angeles Clippers as an undrafted player in 2019. He has played for the Clippers for six seasons, appearing in 323 regular-season games, averaging 6.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 18.4 minutes per game, while shooting 45.5% from the field and 38.4% from three-point range.
Coffey also played in 20 playoff games for the Clippers, averaging 1.2 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 34.5% and a three-point shooting percentage of 30.8%.
Last season, Coffey played a career-high 72 regular-season games for the Clippers, averaging a career-high 9.7 points per game and setting several records with his 47.1% field goal percentage, 40.9% three-point shooting percentage, and a team-high 89.1% free throw percentage. However, he did not re-sign with the Clippers during the offseason, instead choosing to join the Milwaukee Bucks to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
