Southampton lost 0-2 to Everton in their last away game of the season, and interim manager Simon Rask responded to the result after the game.  

Simon Rask said: "We struggled in the first half, both defensively and offensively. However, I think the performance in the second half showed positive signs."  

Ndiaye scored the first goal six minutes before the end of the first half, and then scored another goal in the injury time. In this regard, Simon Rask said that the timing of these two goals was very unfavorable for the team.  

Simon Rask said: "After conceding the goal early, the game became more unpredictable and we didn't want to concede a second goal. It's very difficult for a team that is in trouble and behind to break the deadlock. We had to hold on somehow, but conceding the ball just before halftime, in a sense, probably also meant that we lost the chance to get back in the game."  

"Our goal was to win the second half and try to equalize the score. I think we should have scored at least one goal. If we had gotten that goal, the game might have gone differently, but unfortunately we didn't."  

The day before the game, the team was affected by the absence of first-choice center back Jan Bednarek due to injury, and defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis was hit late in the game.  

Simon Rask said: "I haven't had time to communicate with him yet. We can only hope that the problem is not serious. Obviously he was in pain at the time, but we still need to wait for the team doctor to confirm further."
