Stuttgart attacker Bruun Larsen officially returns to Burnley on a four-year contract

Burnley announced on Friday that they have signed Danish attacker Jacob Bruun Larsen from Stuttgart on a permanent basis. Both parties have signed a four-year contract until June 30, 2029.

With the transfer dust settled, Bruun Larsen returned to Burnley after a year. He played for Burnley on loan in the 2023/24 season, contributing 7 goals in 36 games in all lines.

Regarding his return, Bruun Larsen said after the signing: "To be honest, I'm very happy to be back. It feels great. It didn't take me too long to make the decision - it was quite easy. We are very familiar with each other, so everything went quickly."

He added: “I’ve spoken to the manager and a few of my teammates about how they work and the overall feeling has been very positive. I’m looking forward to being a part of Burnley now.”

"The coach plays an important role in all matters at the club and my decision is closely related to him. We had in-depth exchanges and I have heard about the good atmosphere at Burnley. I am very happy to return and hope to fight side by side with my teammates and coaches."

“I can’t wait to walk through the tunnel at Turf Moor in a few weeks’ time and see all the fans again.”

The 26-year-old Jacob Bruun-Larsen mainly plays as a left winger, but can also play as a right winger, attacking midfielder, center forward, left midfielder, etc. He received youth training at Lyngby and Dortmund, and played for Dortmund's first team in the German Cup for the first time on October 26, 2016.

During his time at Dortmund, Bruun Larsen made 41 appearances, scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists, winning the German Cup and the German Super Cup. After leaving Dortmund, he moved to Hoffenheim and was loaned to Anderlecht and Burnley.

In January this year, Bruun Larsen joined Stuttgart from Hoffenheim for 1.7 million euros. So far, he has played 20 times for Stuttgart, scored 1 goal and sent 1 assist, and won 1 German Cup with the team.
