Guardiola says he will take some time off after his time at Manchester City ends

Manchester City coach Guardiola recently confirmed in an interview with Sky Sports that once he ends his coaching career at Manchester City, he will "take a break from football for a while", but stressed that this does not mean that he will retire.

The Spanish coach just renewed his contract with Manchester City until June 2027 in November last year. Although the outside world has always paid attention to his future movements, Guardiola personally clarified the rumors about his "retirement".

"I didn't say I was leaving now, or at the end of the season, unless the club sacked me, that's another matter," Guardiola said before the game against Wolves.

He further explained: "I'm just saying, whether it's one, two, three, four or five years from now, when my work here is over, I'm going to take a break for a while. But I'm not going to retire, I'm just going to take a break, that's for sure."

Guardiola also joked: "Do you know what it means for a coach to sign a two-year contract? That's almost a lifetime. So what I want to express is that when this is all over, I need a pause, that's all."

Former Manchester City defender and current commentator Micah Richards half-jokingly expressed in an interview that he hoped Guardiola would coach for another ten years, and Guardiola smiled and responded: "That's impossible."

It is worth mentioning that after leaving Barcelona in 2012, Guardiola chose to take a year off before returning to coaching, and then coached the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2013. This time, he revealed his "temporary departure plan", which also aroused speculation about his next stop.
