Kompany urged Bayern to carry their excellent momentum into the match against Dortmund.

A key match in the 24th round of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season will take place, with defending champions Bayern Munich traveling to face title rivals Borussia Dortmund. Vincent Kompany stated that being eliminated from the Champions League would have unpredictable consequences for Dortmund, but still urged his team to approach the match with a strong fighting spirit.

Thanks to goals from Pavlovic and Kane, Bayern Munich defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in the last round of the Bundesliga. With their third consecutive win, Bayern Munich sits atop the league table with 60 points, eight points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

It is worth noting that Borussia Dortmund lost 1-4 to Atalanta in the second leg of the earlier Champions League play-offs and were eliminated with an aggregate score of 3-4, thus failing to continue their Champions League journey.

Speaking about Borussia Dortmund's Champions League defeat, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said, "It could have any impact on Dortmund, but it's hard to predict. It's certainly a setback, but it's also a game they could have qualified for. So it will definitely have a psychological impact, but that impact could go in any direction."

"What we can control is how to prepare for the game. I like that we train with healthy anger. We've had a great week, everything is going well before the kickoff, and now we hope to bring that energy into the game."

Regarding the form of some players, Kompany said, "Neuer looks good. We originally thought he would be out longer, but he might participate in team training, and then we will continue to discuss it until the match before making a decision. Everything is positive now, but he may not be ready for tomorrow's match. We will continue to communicate with Neuer, and if that doesn't work, we will put Ulbighi on the field; he has been performing very well."

"Laimer has been training all week, and Alphonso Davies has started running. He is recovering well and is expected to return in the crucial month of March."

In addition, Bayern Munich will face Atalanta from Serie A in the Champions League Round of 16.

Kompany responded, "I'm the last person who should be asking this question, and I don't care at all. We'll attack with all our might, no matter who the opponent is. Not just this round, but hopefully the rest of the games will be the same. That's always been my thought, and right now I'm only focused on the game against Dortmund."
