Liverpool's new star Jarell Quansah is taking his own path for Liverpool step by step.

The 22-year-old centre-back, who is currently competing with England at the European Under-21 Championship, admitted in an interview that he was inspired by several Liverpool legends and current players as he grew up.

Kuangsa, who came from Liverpool's youth training system, has played 58 times for Liverpool since joining the first team at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, winning Premier League and League Cup championship medals. His career started when he was loaned to Bristol Rovers in the second half of the 2022-23 season and entered the professional stage.

Talking about his own development, Kuangsa said: "I will not be too complacent or too frustrated. The experience of the past three years, from Bristol to Liverpool, has taught me a lot. I am in a good position now. Next, I just need to continue to work hard and focus on the part I can control."

In order to improve his leadership and ability to advance the ball in the backcourt, Kuangsa took the initiative to learn from Liverpool players, namely Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk.

Kuangsa said: "Henderson is very vocal, has high standards for himself and his teammates, and is always consistent. Van Dijk is the kind of captain who makes people want to listen and learn. I may not be the most talkative person in the team, but I can set the standard with my training attitude and performance on the field."

As for advancing with the ball, Kuangsa spoke highly of his former teammate Joel Matip: "He is incredible when he advances with the ball from the back. It is not as easy as it looks. I haven't mastered this skill yet, but his performance is what I am working towards."

In a Liverpool lineup with an average age of less than 25, Kuangsa's growth path undoubtedly represents new hope for Liverpool's future defense.
