Valencia striker Diego López, a former Barça player who joined Valencia in 2021, spoke to the media in the press room of the Paterna Sports City to discuss the upcoming match against Barcelona.  

Speaking about the venue issue, Diego Lopez said: "It's unbelievable that we still don't know the venue five days before the game. This issue should have been resolved long ago, not only for the team but also for the fans. They deserve a clear answer so that they can come and support us."  

"The contract renewal process went very smoothly. Both parties have always been aligned on the same goals and there have been no disagreements. I have always wanted to stay here and I feel very happy at the club, with the fans and in this city."  

"A club like Valencia always has the responsibility to maintain a top level. At the beginning of last season, we also hoped to qualify for the Champions League, but we encountered huge difficulties in the first half of the season. This year we must learn from the lessons and not set goals too early. Instead, we will achieve them game by game. As the season progresses, the goals will naturally become clearer."  

"Everyone has dreams. Those are the goals we set for ourselves. At my current level, it will still take a lot of hard work to achieve these goals. But I will persevere and give my all in the hope of one day being selected for the national team."  

When asked about the transfer market, Diego Lopez said: "The transfer window went well and we brought in some players who can bring great help, which is undoubtedly very positive news. Having so many talented players means that the competition in the team will be more intense."
