Fulham travel to Bournemouth in the next round of the Premier League this season. Marco Silva said Bournemouth is very tough in terms of physical confrontation and urged his team to be vigilant at all times.
In the last league match, Fulham took the lead early in the match thanks to a goal from Raul Jimenez, but subsequently conceded goals repeatedly and ultimately lost 1-3 away to Aston Villa. With two wins, two draws, and two losses in the last five matches, Fulham currently sits 11th in the standings with eight points.
As for Bournemouth, Andoni Iraola's team ranks 6th in the standings with 11 points, and has achieved a good record of 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in the last 5 rounds.
Fulham manager Marco Silva said at a press conference, "This game will focus on physical confrontation. When I say physical confrontation, I don't mean the players' size, but their attitude in the game. Whether it is the confrontation method or the fight in every moment, it is full of physical intensity."
"They play tough and direct football, and are very active in preparing for and fighting for the second ball. From these links, they are able to use their speed and impact to create offensive opportunities. This is definitely one of their characteristics. This is a team that dares to confront any opponent head-on. Our encounters with them are always challenging."
In last season's Premier League away game against Bournemouth, Semenyo scored a goal at the beginning of the game to help the "Cherries" get off to a dream start, but Fulham eventually lost to their opponents 0-1.
However, Marco Silva believes Fulham need to look beyond Semenyo in their matches. "When you look at their options up front, it's not just Semenyo," he said. "He's in great form right now and he was fantastic last season. He's a great example of what I mean by the physicality of the team, but I think Bournemouth are much more than just Semenyo."
"They have great players in every position on the field, including on the bench. We have to be wary of the whole team, not just one player."
