Arsenal announced on their official website on Thursday that they have signed Ecuadorian twin wonderkids, Edwin and Holger Quintero, from Independiente del Valle.
According to Arsenal's official statement, the Quintero brothers have both signed on a long-term four year deals with the club which run until the summer of 2032, and they will officially join the club in August 2027 when they turn 18.
It's worth noting that there are conflicting reports regarding the actual transfer fee for the Quintero brothers.
According to Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal paid Independiente del Valle a total of $6.5 million to sign the Quintero brothers.
While The Athletic's resident renowned English transfer journalist David Ornstein, said that the transfer fee is $4.5 million.
Both Ornstein and Ornstein confirmed that Arsenal successfully hijacked the signing of the brothers from Chelsea.
The arrival of the Quintero brothers continues the Premier League leaders' recent focus on acquiring promising young talents.
About the Quintero Brothers
Edwin and Holger Quintero, both only 16 years old, were born on August 15, 2009, in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. Both brothers are 1.73 meters tall.
Edwin Quintero primarily plays as a right winger, but can also play as an attacking midfielder.
Holger Quintero primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a left winger.
Both brothers are Ecuador U17s internationals, having joined Independiente del Valle's youth academy together at a young age.
In January of this year, both brothers were promoted to the Ecuadorian Serie A powerhouse's U20s team, quickly attracting the attention of Arsenal and Chelsea.
