AC Milan announced on their official website on Thursday that they have extended the contract of its France international goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

According to AC Milan's official statement, Maignan has signed on a new long-term five-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031.

This extension effectively dispels rumours that he would join Chelsea next season.

About Mike Maignan

The 30-year-old Maignan was born on July 3, 1995, in Cayenne, French Guiana. He is 1.91 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He holds French, Haitian, and Guadeloupe citizenship.

Maignan joined Paris Saint-Germain's youth academy at the age of 14 and began playing for their B team in 2012.

In the summer of 2015, Maignan moved to Lille for €1 million and completed his Lille first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in September of the same year.

During his two-year spell with Les Dogues, Maignan won one Ligue 1 title with the club.

In July 2021, he joined AC Milan from Lille for €15 million, becoming Gianluigi Donnarumma's successor after the latter's move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Since becoming a member of I Rossoneri, Maignan has made 189 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions, conceding 190 goals and keeping 71 clean sheets, winning one Serie A title and one Supercoppa Italiana with the club.
