Maxence Lacroix said that Crystal Palace showed great focus and tenacity in every tackle in their 2-0 victory over Brentford.  

In a hard-fought match at Selhurst Park, the defender and his team ultimately secured victory. With unwavering determination and solid ball control, they clinched the win through a header from Jean-Philippe Mateta and an own goal by Brentford defender Nathan Collins.  

The two teams engaged in 41 aerial duels and a total of 95 tackles in the match. Crystal Palace secured their third clean sheet of the Premier League season thanks to their solid defense. After the game, Maxence Lacroix praised the victory: "It was a fantastic match and a victory the team deserves to celebrate."  

“We are very happy because we knew it would be a tough game, and I think we also showed our strength on set pieces. We discussed this before the game, and we knew that our opponents liked to attack from set pieces, and we are warriors who fight for every ball. In the end, we won the contest and took three valuable points.”  

Maxence Lacroix spoke about the own goal resulting from Jefferson Lerma's powerful long-range throw-in. He said, "I don't think it was luck; everyone on the team did their job. Sometimes these things happen in the box, and they're very difficult to defend against. Today it was an own goal for us, but we're happy with the result."  

Speaking about Jean-Philippe Mateta's header, he said: "I was very impressed with the goal, and I am happy for him. He fully deserved the goal because he put in a lot of effort."  

Crystal Palace will face AZ Alkmaar, one of the favorites to win the UEFA Conference League, at Selhurst Park on Friday. Maxáns Lacroix said: "We are happy to be back in European competition and hope to win. The last loss was somewhat disappointing, so we are very excited to be back in European competition."
