◤EXCLUSIVE◢ Liverpool legend Harry Kewell thinks signing a new center forward who could maintain a high goalscoring efficiency is more important than worrying about the loss of Trent Alexander-Arnold..

Former Liverpool and Australia international legendary winger Harry Kewell, said on Saturday that as opposed to being worried about the loss of right-wing back Trent Alexander-Arnold, he was more concerned that his former club's failure to sign a center forward who could maintain a high goalscoring efficiency, which would affect Liverpool's title race credentials.

Kewell said this when he arrived in Malaysia to attend an event and was asked by fans.

He said that he was very optimistic about Conor Bradley, and he believed that the Northern Ireland international wonderkid was absolutely capable of becoming Alexander-Arnold's successor. On the contrary, Liverpool should sign a center forward who could maintain a high goalscoring efficiency to share the heavy responsibility of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Díaz and Diogo Jota.

Kewell said: "In my opinion, Trent Alexander-Arnold's upcoming departure is certainly sad for all of us who care about Liverpool, because we will not only lose a Scouser who came through Kirkby (Liverpool's youth academy), but also a ‘Generational’ player with talent in terms of goals and assists."

"I think Bradley should be a good replacement for him. I like that kid very much. Although he does not have a strong attacking ability like Trent, his defensive ability is very good. He is a completely different type of Liverpool right-back from the latter."

"That's not to say that Liverpool shouldn't sign anyone in this position. Signing a new right-back as a backup is certainly important, but I think Liverpool needs a reliable 'No. 9' (center forward) more than this. "

"Whether it's my era, Brendan Rodgers' era, or Jürgen Klopp's era, you see, we always have fearsome center forwards, from the likes of Michael Owen, Fernando Torres, Luis Suárez, to Roberto Firmino and so on. In the current squad, the striker I like most after Salah is Diogo Jota. "

"Every time I see him play for us, he always has a threatening quality that is hard to guess, but still able to shock the opponent's defense. I’m not saying that Darwin Núñez is terrible, but I believe that like everyone else, I think his inconsistency has exceeded Liverpool's trust in him. "

"Lucho (Luis Díaz) and Gakpo are wingers like Salah after all. We can't always rely on them to score goals for the team, so I think it is very important for Liverpool to sign a center forward who can maintain a high goalscoring efficiency. After all, everyone knows that "The second season is often more difficult, and Arne Slot should also face this issue, not to mention that we are the Premier League champions who have just won the 20th league title."

"If I can recommend, I personally think that Benjamin Šeško of RB Leipzig is very good, after all, he has a record of scoring double-digit goals in the Bundesliga."

"If Salah is pushed to the center forward position, that Paris Saint-Germain winger which has a difficult name (Khvicha Kvaratskhelia) can be considered as a candidate for right winger."

"Of course, I know that many people hope that it would be best we could sign Alexander Isak, and of course I think so too. But we all know that Newcastle United will not sell him so easily. In any case, let's wait and see."

When asked as the person involved, what inspiring words did the then manager Rafael Benítez had said during the half-time break of the 2005 UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan which allowed the "Miracle Night in Istanbul" to happen, Kewell regretfully said that he missed the talk because he had torn his groin in the first half and was being bandaged by the team doctor with an ice pack in the medical room.

When he completed the medical procedures and returned to the bench, Steven Gerrard had already scored a goal to pull back the game. In any case, he was happy for the team and described that night as well as the goal which he has scored in the "Merseyside Derby" against Everton that night as the most memorable achievement in his career with the Reds.
