Germany defeated Northern Ireland 3-1 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup United States, Mexico and Canada UEFA qualifiers at the RheinEnergieStadion on Sunday.

In the first half, Gnabry scored by a chipping the goalkeeper on a quick counterattack, and Price volleyed home from close range. In the second half, Amiri slotted home a close-range shot, and Wirtz converted a beautiful free kick. Ultimately, Die Mannschaft triumphed 3-1 over Northern Ireland.

First Half

In the 7th minute, Germany launched a quick counterattack. Nick Voltemade intercepted the ball and passes horizontally from the midfield center circle. Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 64th minute, Germany was awarded a deadly free kick opportunity. David Raum took the kick by crossing it into the box from outside the penalty area. Nadiem Amiri rose high and attempted with a header in the box, unfortunately his effort hit the crossbar and bounced out. Germany missed a golden opportunity to regain their lead!

Five minutes later, Raum made a long through pass into box from the left wing. After successfully beating the offside trap and quickly following up, upon receiving the pass, Amiri pushed the ball into the empty lower center of the net with his right foot. Germany regained their lead over Northern Ireland by 2-1!

In the 72nd minute, Germany was awarded a deadly free kick opportunity. Florian Wirtz took the kick from outside the penalty area and directly struked the ball with his right foot. His shot flew into the top left corner of the net, turning it into a wondergoal past the helpless Peacock-Farrell. This was the first time that the new Liverpool attacking midfielder had scored in his homeland since his summer transfer!

Two minutes later, Northern Ireland were awarded a free kick opportunity. Shea Charles took the free kick by taking a long pass from the midfield center circle. Leon Goretzka's header was misplaced, and Justin Devenney quickly followed up and attempted with a close-range header from a very close distance in the box, however his effort somehow went just wide of the left side of the post. Northern Ireland missed a golden opportunity to pull a goal back!

When the final whistle is blown, Germany defeated Northern Ireland by 3-1.
