Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 3-2 in a pre-season friendly match at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday.

In the first half, Elanga and Merino volleyed into the net, and Alex Murphy scored an own goal. In the second half, Jacob Murphy scored from a long shot. At the critical moment, Ødegaard scored with a penalty. In the end, Arsenal came back from behind and defeated Newcastle United 3-2 to record their second win in a row.

First Half

In the 6th minute, Sandro Tonali crossed into the box from the right wing. Anthony Elanga quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed the ball with his right foot rom the center of the box. The ball flew straight into the bottom right corner of the net. David Raya misjudged and jumped in the wrong direction! Newcastle United broke the deadlock early to take a 0-1 lead! This is the the former Manchester United and Nottingham Forest winger's first goal  after becoming a member of the Magpies this summer!

In the 12th minute, Kieran Trippier passes horizontally from the right wing. His pass was initially blocked and cleared off not far away by Riccardo Calafiori. After picking up the loose ball, Sandro Tonali took a long shot with his right foot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Raya.

In the 33rd minute, Kai Havertz passes horizontally from the left side of the box. Mikel Merino  quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with his left foot from the center of the box. Arsenal equalized Newcastle United at 1-1!

2 minutes later, Havertz made a crossed into the box from the edge of the byline at the left wing. His pass was blocked into his own net by the returning young player Alex Murphy, resulting in an own goal! Arsenal overtook Newcastle United by 2-1!

At the end of the first half, Arsenal and Newcastle United temporarily drew 2-2 and entered the half-time break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 50th minute, Havertz passes horizontally from the left side of the box. Martin Ødegaard quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his left foot from the left side of the box, but his shot was saved by Nick Pope.

5 minutes later, Arsenal got a corner kick opportunity. Bukayo Saka took the corner by crossing it into the box. Kai Havertz rose high and attempted with a header in the box. However his effort went just slightly wide of the upper left corner of the post..

In the 57th minute, Leandro Trossard crossed from the left side of the box. Bukayo Saka rose high and attempted a bicycle kick by volleying the ball with his left foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was saved by Pope.

Soon after, Lewis Miley passes horizontally from the right wing. Jacob Murphy got the ball, turned around and took a few steps before taking a long shot from outside the penalty area with his left foot, with the ball ended up at the bottom right corner of the net. Newcastle United equalized Arsenal 2-2! This is the first time that the English winger has scored against the Gunners in two months!

In the 71st minute, Ben White made a straight pass from the right wing, Max Dowman quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled to the edge of the penalty area before taking a long shot with his left foot, but his shot was saved by Pope.

7 minutes later, Andre Harriman-Annous passes horizontally from the right side of the box, Dowman quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts into the right side of the box before volleying with his left foot, but his shot was saved by John Ruddy.

In the 82nd minute, Dowman dribbled into the right side of the penalty area and was maliciously pushed down by Joelinton. The referee immediately blew the whistle and awarded Arsenal a penalty! Martin Ødegaard took the penalty and scored with his left foot. Arsenal came back from behind and overtook Newcastle United again by 3-2!

8 minutes later, Sean Neave passes horizontally from the center of the box. Upon receiving the pass, Harrison Ashby volleyed with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was bravely saved by Kepa.

When the final whistle is blown, Arsenal came back from behind and defeated Newcastle United by 3-2.
