Adam Lallana has announced his retirement from football and the experienced player has looked back fondly on his time at Brighton, describing them as the "happiest years" of his life.  

Adam Lallana has been a key figure both on and off the pitch for Brighton's men's first team since joining from Liverpool, with his time at the club not only helping them to a historic sixth-place finish in the Premier League but also helping them qualify for Europe for the first time.  

Adam Lallana wrote on social media: "At this moment when I announce my retirement, my heart is full of gratitude and pride. Thank you to everyone I met along the way, and I am grateful to those who gave me opportunities and trust."
