Guardiola: Every game will be a final

The 2024/25 Premier League will stage the 34th round of the focus game tomorrow, and Manchester City will face Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium. Guardiola said that in order to qualify for the Champions League, every subsequent game is a "final".

With Nico O'Reilly and Kovacic scoring, Manchester City beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park in the last round of the Premier League. After two consecutive wins, Manchester City is currently ranked fifth in the standings with 58 points, one point ahead of Chelsea in sixth place.

As for Aston Villa, Emery's team won 4-1 against Newcastle in the last game and achieved 5 consecutive wins. Aston Villa is currently ranked 7th in the standings with 57 points and is also aiming for the Champions League qualification.

Manchester City coach Guardiola said in an interview, "There is no doubt that every game will be a final, and the next game against Wolves is the same, and every game now is extremely important."

"Aston Villa are a direct contender for the Champions League and I was impressed by their performance against Paris Saint-Germain, coached by my friend Luis Enrique."

Guardiola said, "They can play low defense, but also have speed and set-piece threats, which are their weapons. This is a final and we need the support of the fans to strive to appear in the Champions League again next season. From the first minute, we need them to make the stadium full of momentum."

In addition, the 20-year-old Manchester City midfielder Nico O'Reilly has scored two goals in the Premier League so far this season and played a guest role as a defender on the field.

Speaking of Nico O'Reilly, Guardiola said, "The season is long and we will only play one game a week now, so there is time for him to recover. We have to see if he can play a game every three days. This is a realistic problem, but I appreciate that he can play in a position he has never played before."

"He's still learning and there's certainly room for improvement, but he's also very good with the ball. If he plays in midfield, his movement would put him in the penalty area. He likes that position and he really helps when we have problems defending set-pieces."
