Kompany on the path to a 16-game winning streak: We must believe we can do it.

The fourth round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League will feature a highly anticipated match as Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich travel to the Parc des Princes to challenge Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. Manager Vincent Kompany stated that his team must believe in their ability to achieve victory once again.

With goals from Lennart Karl, Kane, Diaz and Jackson, Bayern Munich secured a 4-0 victory over Club Brugge in the third round of the Champions League, achieving their third consecutive win. Bayern Munich currently sits in second place in the standings with 9 points, tied with first-placed Paris Saint-Germain.

In the earlier Bundesliga Round 9 key match, Bayern Munich defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 with goals from Gnabry and Jackson, achieving a 15-game winning streak across all competitions.

However, whether Bayern Munich can achieve a 16-game winning streak against Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League champions coached by Enrique, will be one of the focal points of this match.

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said, "You have to believe in yourself and then play a perfect game. That's the classic answer. They are the reigning Champions League champions and the favorites to win this season, but we still have to believe we have a chance. Whoever wins this game will take a huge step closer to the quarterfinals, which is the knockout stage."

For Paris Saint-Germain, Enrique's team defeated Nice 1-0 in the earlier Ligue 1 match thanks to a goal from Gonzalo Ramos, successfully facing the challenge of the Champions League with a victory.

Kompany continued, "The key to defeating Paris Saint-Germain is the overall performance; simply marking one player is not enough. Of course, there are individual player factors, but what makes this team so strong is that they operate as a team at all stages of the game."

"Actually, we have similar conditions, but the game is not just about control, but about what the team has conveyed so far, and what we have shown is the same as theirs. What happens next is what the outside world wants to see."

In addition, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Neuer said, "We have made progress and we are not afraid. Even though we know the opponent is very strong, we came here to win."

“I’m relatively relaxed and looking forward to this match. I always hope to compete against the strongest teams, and our team has a great atmosphere and high morale. This isn’t a knockout match, but it’s about prestige.”
