Harrison Armstrong admits he is excited about his future at Everton

Talented midfielder Harrison Armstrong has signed a long-term contract following a breakthrough season and says he wants to be part of Everton's exciting upward trend.

The player has been in the Everton Academy since the age of five and had a memorable season. In September, he made his debut for Everton's senior team and went on to play six games, most notably in January's FA Cup third round match against Peterborough United, where he assisted Beto to open the scoring.

A month later, Harrison Armstrong signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract that would last until June 2028, with an option for a one-year extension, before heading to Derby County for the first time on loan in his career.

At Derby County, the youngster, who mainly plays as a defensive midfielder, played the full 90 minutes in 10 of 15 Championship games and played a vital role in helping John Eustace's side retain their place in the English Football League Two.

The Liverpool-born talent returned to Finch Farm following the conclusion of the Championship campaign and is now looking forward to a bright future at David Moyes' Everton .

Harrison Armstrong said : “ I have been at Everton since I was five years old, so this new contract means a lot to me. It has been a very fast two years and although there have been many changes, I have enjoyed every moment of it and am looking forward to taking on new challenges.”

"This period of time has given me a deeper understanding of myself, including my strengths, weaknesses and areas of expertise. I think I have grown a lot and hope to become a more comprehensive and better player in the future."

" Playing in front of the fans, every game comes with pressure. From a physical point of view, it is indeed challenging to play games in consecutive days, but I enjoy this rhythm and environment ."

Harrison Armstrong joined Everton's under-18 national team as a first-team scholar in the summer of 2023, which became the starting point of his rapid growth. Last season, he quickly became a regular in the U21 team coached by Paul Tait, signed his first professional contract last summer, and then made his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur in August 2024.

The player made his England U18 debut in October last year and captained the Young Lions to a 2-2 draw with France in March this year.

Harrison Armstrong said : " Time has definitely flown by quickly but I have been enjoying the journey. There have been new challenges almost every month but I feel like I am adapting well and look forward to more challenges in the future."

"I didn't expect everything to develop so quickly. As a player, of course I hope to succeed and I hope I can perform well, but I always insist on taking one step at a time and meeting every challenge that comes."

“The team has been doing well recently and it’s great to see the club is on the rise. I think this is the moment that young players are eager to get involved. With the construction of the new stadium and the addition of new players, the club is constantly developing and improving, and there is no doubt that every player wants to be a part of it.”
