Ollie Watkins praised the crucial three points. Aston Villa returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday. Emmy Buendia opened the scoring with a powerful first-half shot, while Ollie Watkins sealed the win with a late header. He said he was delighted that he and his teammates were able to put the weekend's defeat at Everton behind them and bounce back strongly in the Northeast of England with an away win against Newcastle United.  

After the match, Ollie Watkins said in an interview: "I think it was a very good game and it made up for our disappointing performance at home against Everton. We were out of form then, and Everton deserved to win."  

“Although we made some minor mistakes before, I’m happy to bounce back and win three valuable points here. It seems like the team hasn’t won here since I joined.”  

Despite creating numerous chances to score a second goal in Thursday's UEFA Europa League match, England ultimately secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Fenerbahce. The England international expressed his delight at sealing the win and defeating Eddie Howe's team. He reminisced about his header that equalized the score, as well as Nick Pope's brilliant save earlier in the game.  

Ollie Watkins added: “It feels great. Lucas found me in the second half of the corner, and I stayed focused and kept working hard. I obviously had a few chances today, and I just need to keep putting in the effort. Honestly, that’s how challenging the game against Fenerbahce is.”  

“My fellow attacking players and I created a lot of chances today, just like against Fenerbahce. As I said, we need to be more composed and try to score the second and third goals. I’m glad we scored the second goal today. I think the team is fully capable of punishing the opponent, and we are getting closer and closer to finishing the game.”
