A key match in the 19th round of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season will take place, with defending champions Bayern Munich hosting Augsburg. Kompany stated that the team will not differentiate between matches and has no intention of making any game easy for any team.
With goals from Gnabry, Kane, Jonathan Tah, Pavlovic, and Olise, Bayern Munich defeated RB Leipzig 5-1 in the last round of the Bundesliga. After securing their fourth consecutive victory, Bayern Munich currently sits atop the league table with 50 points, 11 points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
In addition, Bayern Munich defeated Saint-Germain 2-0 in an earlier Champions League key match, successfully securing their place in the round of 16.
Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said, "Augsburg must have seen our recent games. We always encounter difficulties, which is normal. That's the Bundesliga; the games are never easy. If we look back at the game against St. Gillespie, I can imagine that they will learn a lot from it, both in terms of their system and the characteristics of their players. They will come with a very well-thought-out plan and believe that they can get their chances."
"For us, this means that our opponents will treat the game like a final. For many teams, beating us is like winning a trophy, but we don't want any team to feel that it's easy when they face us."
Kompany emphasized, "We will not differentiate between Augsburg and Leipzig. No matter which team we face, we want to show our highest level, but our opponents will always treat playing against us like a final."
Regarding the team's lineup, Kompany said, "It's a pity that Upamecano is sick and will be absent. We also need Stanic, Laimer, and Sasha Boy, all of whom are defenders we're missing. However, we still have good competition for these positions. Hiroki Ito is in good form, Kim Min-jae is available, and Guerrero and Tom Bishov are also options."
"Kimmich and Goretzka can also fill in these positions, so I'm never too worried about the starting lineup because I'm always reassured by the team's consistency."
