Parma announced on their official website on Saturday that the club have extended the contract of its Spanish center forward Mateo Pellegrino.

According to Parma's official statement, Pellegrino has signed on a new long-term four-and-a-half-year deal which runs until the summer of 2030.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Pellegrino, who was interviewed by the Parma official website agai, said: "I've been here for a year now, and we've experienced many wonderful moments, and of course, some not-so-wonderful ones."

"Today is a special day for me. I want to thank everyone at the club and my teammates, because all of this wouldn't have been possible without their support."

"We have a common goal, and we will do our best to achieve it because we want to bring more joy to the fans."

About Mateo Pellegrino

The 24-year-old Pellegrino was born on June 22, 2001, in Valencia, Spain. He is 1.92 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left winger, left midfielder, or left wing-back. He holds dual Spanish and Argentine citizenship. His father, Mauricio, is a former Argentina international center-back who played for Valencia and Liverpool during his playing career. He is currently the Lanús head coach.

Pellegrino joined the youth academy of his father's former club, Valencia, at a young age. He later played for Inter Milan's youth academy after his father became a first-team coach at the club, and in 2018, he joined Vélez Sarsfield's youth academy again because his father was then the head coach there.

In March 2021, Pellegrino completed his Vélez Sarsfield first-team debut by coming on as a substitute, arranged by his father.

From the following summer until the end of 2024, Pellegrino played for Estudiantes de La Plata and Platense on-loan successively.

On the 2025 winter transfer window deadline day, Pellegrino joined Parma for €2 million.

Since becoming a member of I Crociati, Pellegrino has made 39 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions so far, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists.
