According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania on Tuesday, the Washington Wizards have reached a deal with the San Antonio Spurs: the Wizards will send Kelly Olynyk to the Spurs in exchange for Malakai Branham, Blake Wesley and a 2026 second-round pick.

Charania added that the Wizards' second-round pick will be the lowest of the three teams selected: the Dallas Mavericks, the Philadelphia 76ers or the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Through this transaction, the Wizards were able to continue to add young assets. They have now acquired a number of young talents, including 19-year-old Carlton Carrington, 20-year-old Bilal Coulibaly, 21-year-old Keyshawn George, 20-year-old A.J. Johnson, 19-year-old Trey Johnson, 19-year-old Will Riley and 20-year-old Alexander Sarr.

The Spurs also achieved their own reinforcement goal through this transaction. They already have Victor Wenbanyama, Jeremy Sohan, Luke Kornet and many other forwards. The arrival of Olynyk will undoubtedly bring more options to the team's inside line.

Olynyk, 34, is a 2.13-meter-tall center who was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the 13th pick in the first round of 2013. He has played for the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans. He has played in 800 regular season games so far, averaging 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, shooting 48.6% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range.

Olynyk also played in 48 playoff games for various teams, averaging 7.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, shooting 48.3% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range. He also reached the NBA Finals with the Heat during his time with the team, but ultimately lost to the Los Angeles Lakers and finished second.
