Porzingis, 29, joined the Atlanta Hawks in early July, and the power forward said he has gotten enough rest and looks forward to contributing to the Atlanta Hawks in a healthier state.

Porzingis, from Latvia, previously played for the Boston Celtics and played 42 games for the Boston Celtics in the 2024/25 NBA regular season, averaging 21.0 points per game, 48.3% shooting percentage and 41.2% three-point shooting percentage.

Porzingis said in an interview, "To be honest, I feel great now. I took a good rest after the season ended. During the playoffs, there were some problems that bothered me. I felt very tired and dizzy. There were even a few times when I almost felt like fainting. That feeling was really bad."

"By June, I had completely rested and reduced my training intensity, and the symptoms disappeared. I no longer have any discomfort, feel good overall, and am ready to participate in the national team."

When talking about the process of joining the Atlanta Hawks, Porzingis said, "In fact, there have been some rumors during the season. Although it is not really distracting us, we all know that the team may not be able to remain intact due to salary issues."

"I spoke with my agent right after the season ended and I expected a trade to happen. There was a time when I thought I was going to the Spurs, but then Atlanta got involved, which was a surprise to me."

Porzingis also said, "I think the outside world is still full of expectations for this team. The Atlanta Hawks have always been on the edge of the playoffs in the past, sometimes even reaching the first round. For me, this is a good environment to contribute. Maybe even better than Boston, after all, there is pressure to win a championship there."

"The most important thing is to stay efficient. I tried a lot of things early in my career to find out what worked and what didn't. Now I do fewer things, but I do them more efficiently. I've always been the kind of player who can fit into any system, but now I adapt faster, deal with defense more sensitively, and make decisions faster. These are all accumulated through experience."
