Borussia Mönchengladbach completes contract extension with club captain Tim Kleindinst..

Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on their official website on Thursday that they have extended the contract of club captain, Germany international forward Tim Kleindinst.

According to the Borussia Mönchengladbach's official statement, Kleindinst has signed on a new long-term four-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029.

After completing his contract extension procedures, Kleindinst, who spoke to the Mönchengladbach official website again, said: "I feel at home at Borussia Mönchengladbach. It's a fantastic club. I have full confidence in our team's strength. I sincerely hope to do everything I can to help the club return to its peak."

With this contract extension, all rumours which claimed that Kleindinst will be moving to Bayern Munich during the upcoming winter transfer window have temporarily been dispelled.

About Tim Kleindinst

The 30-year-old Kleindinst was born on August 31, 1995, in Jüterbog, Germany. He is 1.94 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as an attacking midfielder or right winger.

Kleindinst joined the youth academy of his hometown club, Viktoria Jüterbog, at the age of eight. In 2010, he joined Energie Cottbus' youth academy and completed his Energie Cottbus first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in December 2013.

In July 2015, Kleindinst moved to Freiburg for €200,000.

During his three-year spell with Breisgau-Brasilaner, Kleindinst won one 2. Bundesliga 2 title and also spent time on-loan at Heidenheim during the 2016/17 season.

On the 2019 summer transfer window deadline day, Kleindinst returned to Heidenheim for €1.5 million, during which he attracted the attention of several top clubs with his high goal-scoring efficiency.

The following July, Kleindinst joined Gent for €3.5 million, but struggled to adapt and failed to reach his full potential.

On the 2021 winter transfer window deadline day, Kleindinst was loaned back to Heidenheim, but his ownership was later bought outright by the club for €3 million in July of the same year.

During his time at Heidenheim, Kleindinst won the 2. Bundesliga title once and the 2. Bundesliga Golden Boot once.

Last August, Kleindinst moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach for €7 million.

This summer, following the departures of Jonas Omlin and Julian Weigl, Kleindinst officially became the club's new captain.

Since joining the Die Fohlen, Kleindinst has made 33 appearances for the Bundesliga club in all competitions so far, scoring 16 goals and providing 10 assists.
