Rennes announced on Tuesday that Przemysław Frankowski has joined from Galatasaray on loan. He will play for Rennes until June 2026, with an option to extend for another year.

According to the agreement, Rennes will pay €2.75 million for the loan next season. If the loan is extended next year, the club will be obliged to buy out the player for €5.7 million at the end of the 2026/27 season. The contract also includes a variable clause of up to €1.3 million, depending on the player's performance.

Regarding Frankowski's arrival, Rennes' Executive Chairman and General Manager Arnaud Pouille explained: "I am delighted to see Przemysław join Rennes' project. He has long been a favourite of the club's technical department and recruitment team, and his signing has been a priority for the coach and his team. His experience in Ligue 1 and with the Polish national team will make him a valuable asset to the team."

"On a personal note, I've worked with him for several seasons and know him very well. He's an excellent teammate. With his exemplary work ethic and unwavering determination, he's undoubtedly one of the players who can inject even more energy into the existing team."

The 30-year-old Frankovsky primarily plays at right back, but can also play at right winger, right midfielder, left midfielder, left winger, and attacking midfielder. He previously played for Lecce Gdansk, Georgios Roja, and Chicago Fire before moving to Lens for €2.3 million in August 2021.

During his time at Lens, Frankovsky played a total of 141 games across all competitions, contributing 20 goals and 14 assists. He joined Galatasaray on a loan-to-buy basis in February of this year, making 15 appearances and providing one assist, winning both the Turkish Super League title and the Turkish Cup.

As for the national team, Frankowski has played 50 times for Poland so far, scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists.

After completing the transfer, Frankowski said: "I am very happy to join the Rennes project. The club's top management and the coach have expressed a strong desire for me to wear the Rennes jersey. I am well aware of the strength of this team, which has many excellent players."
