Midfielder Alex Scott believes that unity within Bournemouth Football Club will help the team perform at its best. The 22-year-old made the comments after Bournemouth's 0-0 draw against Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium. Scott played the full 90 minutes, helping his team end a two-game losing streak in the Premier League.
The Guernsey-born midfielder said that while the team still has room for improvement, unity is key to success. He stated, "It's been a tough time, but the most important thing is to stay united. I don't think our performance has changed much since the beginning of the season; it's just that our results haven't met expectations."
"The Premier League is highly competitive, with top opponents every week. We're not far from our best, just unlucky. Our defense has weaknesses, and our opponents have scored quite a few goals from set pieces."
“We must improve in similar situations, and the head coach takes this very seriously, working to make the team more united. We know our strength when we are at our best, so we must now do everything we can to get back to that level.”
Bournemouth are currently 13th in the Premier League table with 20 points from their first 15 games. Alex Scott, reflecting on the draw against Chelsea, said: "It was much better than in recent weeks. We played more of our own style, were more aggressive, and were more proactive."
"The fans, ourselves, and the club all have clear expectations of Bournemouth – to play proactive, aggressive football and make it difficult for the opponent to operate through high pressing. I think we did that in the first half. The second half was different; we may not have maintained the same aggressive pressing, but ultimately we drew 0-0 with Chelsea, which is a fair result, and we shouldn't be too disappointed."
