Axel Disasi says he and his West Ham teammates need to learn from their draw and clean sheet against Bournemouth. The French defender, who joined on loan from Chelsea at the end of the transfer window, has started three consecutive league games and has put up solid performances with his centre-back partner Dinos Mavropanos, helping the team keep their second clean sheet in three matches.
Considering Axel Disasi barely played before his transfer in the 2025/26 season, his impressive start in East London is particularly noteworthy. He believes he and the team will continue to improve in the upcoming matches.
Axel Disasi said: "I'm very happy to be back on the field. Although it feels a bit unfamiliar, I'm also very pleased. I think we work together quite well with a teammate like Dinos and have achieved some satisfactory results."
“We knew it would be a tough game against Bournemouth today. They’ve been in good form and playing very well lately. But I think we’ve also played well; we created a lot of chances, and we must keep that momentum going because confidence is crucial to achieving our goals. I hope the team can continue to work hard, keep more clean sheets, and win in the upcoming games.”
In West Ham United's match against Bournemouth, Axel Disasi had a chance to score his first goal for the club. He headed the ball after a corner from Jarrod Bowen, but his shot was saved by Djorje Petrovic and went wide.
Axel Disasi added: "I missed a great chance, and Djordje Petrovic made a brilliant save. I then tried to adjust my shot, but their defense was very solid. However, I think we performed very well on set pieces throughout the game, so we must continue to maintain this form and hopefully score in the next game."
“I think the last 15 minutes of the game were more open, with both sides eager to win. In that situation, you have to be more cautious because you want to win but also maintain a defensive balance. I think we played well, and in the final stages we brought on two forwards to try and win. Although we didn't win, there were positives. We kept a clean sheet again, so we will continue to work hard and look forward to doing even better next week.”
