Werder Bremen has renewed the contract of right-back Luca Hoek. Sporting director Marc Dormer announced the decision on Thursday morning.  

Luka Hawke performed well in the 2024-25 season and was a core member of the team's defense. He won high praise from the coaching staff for his stable performance and excellent physical fitness.  

Mark Dormer said: "Luka Hawke has made significant progress in recent years. He is active in running, excellent in physical confrontation, and has a strong offensive awareness. He played a key role in the U19 youth team last season. We look forward to working with Luka Hawke to promote his career development."  

Luka Hoch transferred from Osnabrück to Werder Bremen Youth Team in July 2022. In the just- concluded season, Luka Hoch played 32 games for Bremen Youth Team, helping the team advance to the semi-finals of the German U19 League and win the German Youth Cup. He showed strong confrontation ability and active wing advancement in the game, and was an important fulcrum for the team's offense and defense.  

The contract extension reflects Werder Bremen's emphasis on local youth training and the club's continued investment in cultivating young talents. Luka Hoke himself expressed his joy at the contract extension in an interview with the club, saying that he would continue to go all out for the team and strive to enter a higher competitive stage in the future.
