Bochum 1848 Football Club has once again secured a promising young player from its youth system, signing him to a long-term contract. This agreement will automatically convert to a professional contract upon turning 18. Tom Meyer, who has been with the club since its U14 stage and currently plays for the Talentwerk U19 team, is fully acquainted with the high standards and rigorous demands of professional training.  

Tom Meyer began his football career at his hometown club. This season, he played in all eight DFB-Pokal matches, captaining David Sibers' team twice. The midfielder has made 34 appearances for the Germany U19 national team, scoring once. Last season, Tom Meyer won the Westphalia Cup final with the U19 team, securing the title in a 6-2 victory over Paderborn.

Tom Meyer has worked extremely hard to secure his first professional contract. He has performed exceptionally well in the youth system, but is still in the formative stages of his career. The club will continue to actively support him in all aspects."  

Tom Meyer expressed his gratitude to the club and said he was honored to receive this opportunity. He said: "I will do my best to continue to improve myself, earn recognition through positive performances, and gradually move towards the first team. I have had the opportunity to participate in trials and train with professional players, which makes me fully aware of the difficulty of reaching this level, but I believe I have the ability to do it."
