Chelsea announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has renewed the contract of its young English defender Ishé Samuels-Smith.
According to Chelsea's official statement, Samuels-Smith has signed on a long-term six-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031.
About Ishé Samuels-Smith
Samuels-Smith, who is only 18 years old, was born in Manchester, England on June 5, 2006. He is 1.82 meters tall and primarily plays as a left back. He can also play as a center back or left midfielder. He has dual nationality of England and Jamaica. His younger brother Odin is also a footballer and currently plays for Everton.
Samuels-Smith joined Everton's youth academy with his younger brother at the age of 9, and was promoted to the U21s team in September 2022.
In July of the following year, Samuels-Smith transferred to Chelsea's youth academy for £4 million and started playing for its U21s team in 2024.
Since becoming a member of the Blues, Samuels-Smith has played 21 times for the Premier League giants' U21s team in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists.
