Freiburg announced on Wednesday that it had completed the contract extension with left winger Vincenzo Grifo. As usual, the contract length and specific details were not disclosed.

Vincenzo Grifo, 32, was born in Pforzheim, Germany, and has Italian nationality due to his parents. He started his career at Hoffenheim and then moved to Dynamo Dresden, Frankfurt, Monchengladbach and other teams.

In his 13-year professional career, Grifo has a deep connection with Freiburg: he played for Freiburg from 2015 to 2017 and returned to the team in 2019. To date, Grifo has played 307 times for Freiburg, scoring 94 goals and providing 83 assists.

After completing the contract extension, Freiburg sports director Clemens Hartenbach said: "Vincenzo's career is far from over. He is a leader on and off the court, in peak physical condition, and has taken his competitive level to new heights over the past year."
