Liverpool have confirmed today that goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Brentford.

The 26-year-old Kelleher joined Liverpool's academy from Ringmahon Rangers in his hometown of Cork in the summer of 2015, gradually rising through the ranks to become a member of the first team. He has played 67 games for Liverpool in all competitions, winning seven trophies, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the European Super Cup.

Kelleher is not only a trophy winner, but also an important player in Liverpool's penalty shootouts. As a goalkeeper, he helped the team win four penalty shootouts, making him the goalkeeper with the most wins in this aspect in Liverpool's history.

The most memorable moment was the 2022 League Cup final against Chelsea, when Kelleher personally took the winning penalty after 120 minutes of outstanding performance to help Liverpool win the cup.

In the 2024-25 season, Kelleher became one of the team's indispensable defensive guarantees, playing 20 games for new coach Arne Sloter and completing five clean sheets. He also set a record, becoming the first Liverpool goalkeeper in a century to save penalties in two consecutive games, against Southampton and Real Madrid respectively.

Despite being Alisson Becker's backup for most of the time, Kelleher has always won the respect of the team, coaching staff and fans with his professionalism, reliable performance and positive attitude.
