In a recent interview, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry recalled wanting to compete for the MVP title in the 2018 Finals, but he believed that Kevin Durant, who performed extremely well, definitely deserved the Finals MVP.

In the 2018 NBA playoffs, Kevin Durant, who was still playing for the Golden State Warriors at the time, played in 21 games, averaging 29.0 points, 48.7% shooting and 34.1% 3-point shooting. He was a very important member of the Golden State Warriors' multiple NBA championships that season.

Recalling the NBA Finals MVP race, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry shared, "It was always a conversation that I couldn't avoid. It was always in front of me because we had been to the Finals four years in a row and won three of them."

Stephen Curry also said, "In 2018, I felt like I was close, but I played badly in Game 3, and Kevin Durant was just phenomenal throughout the entire series."

"If you think about the Finals MVP during the game, you might not win it because it will distract you and even affect your performance. I didn't really think about it, but I was a little tempted in 2018. But of course I want the championship ring and the chance to win a championship more, and Kevin Durant definitely deserves the Finals MVP."
