The Athletic's resident renowned English transfer journalist David Ornstein, exclusively broke the news on Thursday morning, Asian time, that Liverpool and Real Madrid have both suddenly started approaching Bayer Leverkusen and Bournemouth wonderkids Florian Wirtz and Dean Huijsen respectively.

According to Ornstein's report, Liverpool had agreed to arrange for Wirtz's agent and his family to meet with Sporting Director Richard Hughes in Blackpool, England a few hours ago to discuss the player's potential transfer; Real Madrid has informed Huijsen's agent that they believe the right time to join the player's transfer battle has come.

However, since the two clubs' approaches with the two players' agents is only in the preliminary stage, it is too early to speculate on the transfer intentions of Wirtz and Huijsen at this time.

Ornstein said that although Huijsen does seem to prefer to join Real Madrid, this does not mean that Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, who are also in the transfer battle for the player, are at a disadvantage.
