Davis scored 32 points, 13 rebounds , and 4 assists; Nembuhard contributed 28 points and 10 assists; and rising star Flag also scored 24 points. For the Nuggets, Jokic once again displayed his dominance, scoring 29 points, 20 rebounds, and 13 assists, but it wasn't enough to prevent the team's loss.
At the start of the game, the Nuggets established a 17-point lead of 41-27 thanks to their efficient offense and Jokic's all-around performance . Early in the second quarter, the Nuggets continued to widen the gap, but the Mavericks quickly adjusted, gradually erasing their deficit under the leadership of Nembhardt, and taking a 69-68 lead before halftime .
