Dylan Harper, 19, was selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2025 NBA Draft. The young player said in an interview that he hopes to learn from his teammates and senior players on the team and prove his abilities on the court.

Dylan Harper, who plays as a point guard, previously played for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights basketball team and played in 29 games in the 2024/25 season, averaging 19.4 points per game.

Dylan Harper said in an interview, "I saw former head coach Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan on my first day here. This is not common in any NBA team's training hall. Seeing a Hall of Fame coach and a famous player appear in the gym every day, I can communicate with them and ask questions."

"Being a part of this organization is like any kid's dream to me. Whether you're a G League player, a two-way contract player, a star player or a bench player, they treat everyone the same. There is a family culture and atmosphere here, which makes players have to work hard every day. We are a whole team and everything is done together. This is the deepest experience I have so far, and there is no better place for me to land than San Antonio."

Dylan Harper also said, “I’m not going to be perfect, but I just hope to learn every day from the senior veterans and teammates like De’Aaron Fox and Harrison Barnes, and learn from the young players like Wen Banyama and Stephen Castle.”

"I'm the rookie, and I'm going to be the guy with the energy and running around the gym and trying to understand the game. If I can improve every day, then I feel like it's a successful rookie season. I just want to go out there and prove that I belong."

In addition, Brian Wright, general manager of the San Antonio Spurs, said, "Every time I see him play, he always reads the game from a higher level, and you can see that he has put a lot of effort in. His mind is full of basketball, nothing else, he just wants to compete."
