NBA star Luka Dončić recently recalled his reaction when he learned he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers a few months ago. He said he was shocked at the time and it took him some time to accept the fact.

In February of this year, Luka Doncic, who had played for the Dallas Mavericks for many years, was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and played 28 games for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024/25 NBA regular season, averaging 28.2 points per game, 43.8% shooting percentage, and 37.9% 3-point shooting percentage.

During his time with the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Dončić was selected to the NBA All-Star team five times.

Recalling the first time he heard the news that he would be traded, Luka Dončić shared, "It felt too unreal at the time, and it took me some time to digest the news. But being able to join a team that has so many championship trophies and is one of the best teams in the world is like a dream come true for me. I called my father at the time, and although I was still in shock, he told me to embrace this moment."

"I think it's always going to be weird. I don't know if it's ever going to be okay, but it's definitely always going to be weird. I didn't know how to react or what to say. I was just devastated. I consider Dallas my home."

Luka Doncic also said, "I have a lot of friends there, and the fans have always supported me. I don't want to make the fans of the Dallas Mavericks sad, nor do I want to disappoint the fans of the Los Angeles Lakers."
